Literacy Programs

Workforce Solutions Texoma is committed to providing our area employers the best possible candidates for available positions.  Statistics show that raising literacy and numeracy for people at the bottom of the skills distribution ladder is more important to economic growth than producing more highly skilled graduates.  Individuals that complete a GED program are more likely to obtain employment or enroll in higher education.  All of these activities contribute to our local economic structure.  In partnership with local community organizations, our goals are to:

Individuals who obtain their GED and move on to higher education are more likely to increase their income, provide for their family, and contribute to our communities:

There are many resources in Cooke, Fannin, and Grayson Counties to assist individuals in upgrading their basic education skills.  See below for information on available resources to assist individuals in studying for their GED or college entrance exam or upgrade Reading, English, Math, and Science knowledge.  Classes are provided at most sites using the AZTEC Learning System.  AZTEC incorporates user-friendly computer-based software that uses real-life scenarios to assist students in retention of information.
