The Community Needs Assessment, which will help TCOG prioritize service provisions for the next five years, is actually a study of the causes and conditions of poverty in Texoma. This is a complex topic and the Community Survey is only one technique we have used to understand the scope and depth of issues in our communities. We have conducted interviews with various service providers in the tri-county area in February through April, compiled a comprehensive collection of available statistical data on various topics such as education, crime, and affordable housing that has informed the design of the surveys for this study.
