Denison Development Alliance, Sherman Economic Development Corporation and Whitesboro Economic and Industrial Development Corporation are partnering with Workforce Solutions Texoma and the Texas Workforce Commission to sponsor the BET Program for Summer, 2024.
BET allows teachers to:
- Better understand the relevancy of what they teach,
- See first-hand the types of jobs their students may be doing after High School.
- Get a better idea of the skills local employers are looking for, and
- Be better prepared to answer the question; “Why do I have to learn this?”
The project is open to Teachers, Counselors, and Administrators from the Denison, Sherman, and Whitesboro Independent School Districts. A total of 22 teachers will be selected for the Grayson County portion of the project. In addition to the valuable experience gained at the worksite, each will receive a $1,000 stipend.
Project Dates: June 10-14, 2024.
